The Department of Nutrition Services is committed to providing healthy meals at no charge to anyone age 18 and under throughout the school year and summer months. Below is a summary of upcoming changes that affect MPS meal service.

Summer Meal Updates

Meal pre-ordering for summer has now ended. MPS Department of Nutrition Services will continue to offer walk-up meal distribution between August 2, 2021 through August 13, 2021. No pre-order is required.

During these two weeks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., meals are available at:

  • Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Language
  • Vincent High School
  • Rogers Street Academy

During these two weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., meals are available at North Division High School.

2021-2022 School Year Meal Distribution Update

For families who have children learning virtually, MPS Department of Nutrition Services will resume breakfast and lunch meal distribution beginning August 16th, 2021. On school days, families can pick-up one breakfast and one lunch per child between 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. There will be no pre-order required for meal pick-up from the sites listed below:

  • Andrew Douglas Middle School
  • Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Learning – Pick-up not available at this location until September 2
  • North Division
  • Parkside – Pick-up not available at this location until September 2
  • South Division
  • Vincent High School

MPS Launches New Summer Meal Delivery Program

Breakfast and lunch to be delivered at bus stops and individuals homes in Milwaukee’s 53206, 53205, and 53233 neighborhoods.

Milwaukee Public Schools is partnering with the MPS Foundation and Greater Milwaukee Foundation-MKE Responds Fund on a pilot program that will deliver free meals to children and adults at bus stops and individual homes in the 53206, 53205, and 53233 ZIP codes this summer. This program is open to any Milwaukee resident that lives within these neighborhoods, not just MPS families. Participants will receive free meal bundles on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the months of July and August that contain breakfast and lunch for each day of the week.

Interested families that live in one of the specified ZIP codes had to pre-register online and were assigned a bus stop or scheduled for home delivery.
